As we navigate through this unchartered season of social distancing, stay at home mandates, and quarantines, we cling to the truth that God is faithful through it all. Through calm, storms, and chaos, Jesus is our constant source of hope. Easter Sunday is a joyous celebration of his love for us. Even though we won’t able to celebrate in person, we can still gather to worship. In addition to the Digital Service Guide for planning your online services, we have developed some tips and tools for enhancing your digital service

Tips & tools

Promote your service:

Create an ambiance:

    • Many of our churches have now been meeting online for a few weeks, think of ways to make this service special. Create an “Easter set” by including some symbols or additional decorations to signify the meaning of Easter. We have created some graphics with images for Holy Week for some additional visuals.

Incorporate moments of connection:

    • Celebrate through Communion – in your invitations remind members and guests to gather their own elements to be prepared to take Communion together.
    • Develop a Digital Connection Card, take the opportunity to connect with guests and get feedback from members. The above link gives a sample survey. You can create your own using resources like: Typeform, Google Forms, or Survey Monkey.
    • The offering is an opportunity to corporately worship through giving, contextualize these graphics to share your congregation’s text and online giving options.
    • Connect with our international fellowship. Share this Easter of message of hope from GCI President Greg Williams during your service or small groups
    • Use the chat and comment features on Zoom and Facebook to interact with members and guests. Even if you rely on a pre-recorded message, you can still watch together and interact with one another through Zoom or a Facebook watch party.
